Julia Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2018 (12 x 750mL) SA

Lot No: 0023-2484533

MATURATION

Fermentation in stainless steel was followed by a short period of lees stirring on yeast lees. WINEMAKERS NOTES The grapes were sourced from the Kalangadoo district, some 40 kilometres Southwest of Coonawarra, and is part of the Mount Gambier Geographical region. It is a district known for its dairy products, apples, cherries and potatoes. The climate is cool with the nearby coast delivering tempering afternoon sea breezes. The 2018 vintage was extremely dry and very early. Harvesting was timed to give typical Sauvy cool climate delicate fruit characters. Lees stirring was used to fill out the mid palate and balance the natural crisp acidity of the grapes. This wine was made for immediate drinking.Time in the bottle will see the yeastiness fade more into the background and the grassy elderberry notes will become more obvious. Short term cellaring, 1 to 2 years will result in toasty bottle age. But drink it before the fresh fruit fades. (270334-1)

Ten Sisters Single-Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019 (12 x 750mL) Marlborough

Ten Sisters Single-Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2019 (12 x 750mL) Marlborough

Lot No: 0041-2484533

Marlborough is renowned as one of the world’s top regions for sauvignon blanc. The Ten Sisters vineyard is in the Southern Valleys subregion, known for its tropical fruit characteristics. The Southern Valleys are closer to the mountains, creating a cooler climate that leads to later ripening and more vibrant flavors. The soil of the Southern Valleys is primarily loess, or fine windblown soil derived from glacial deposits, and has more clay than other subregions. After being pressed to tank, then left to settle and clear, the juice was racked and inoculated with selected yeast strains known to enhance desirable varietal characteristics. The wine remained on yeast lees for two months, before racking to fine lees for another two months. (270316-1)
