Tertini International Chardonnay 2016 (6 x 750mL) Tumbarumba, NSW

Tertini International Chardonnay 2016 (6 x 750mL) Tumbarumba, NSW

Lot No: 0035-2478934

The fruit for this wine was grown especially for Tertini Wines in the Tumbarumba region of New South Wales. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 650m and has basalt volcanic soils. This vineyard has a long slow ripening period from its cool nights to ensure our fruit is grown with the richness, aromatic development and balance that this region is renowned for. Vintage & Winemaking Notes - An early budburst and early strong growth was followed by warm temperatures through late Spring and early Summer resulting in an excellent flowering and fruit set. A wetter than usual Spring/Summer led onto a dry Autumn which was ideal to keep disease pressures low as the fruit ripened. The winter rains from 2015 ensured a healthy crop load with intense varietal character but with moderate acidity. (266765-2)

Angove Groundswell Organic Chardonnay 2018 (6 x 750mL) SA

Angove Groundswell Organic Chardonnay 2018 (6 x 750mL) SA

Lot No: 0001-2478934

Vineyard

The grapes for this wine were sourced from Angove’s own organically certified Nanya vineyard at Paringa and certified growers in McLaren Vale.Despite a relatively dry winter, budburst was even and the timing was about on par with previous years; however, the dry soil caused many growers to water the vines earlier than normal. With dry conditions comes lack of disease pressure allowing our vineyard team to minimise the use of any mildew sprays. Dry conditions continued into January, with above average temperatures and a four day stretch in mid-January of above 40 degrees. With good canopies and careful irrigation this did not do any damage to the fruit unlike previous years. Winemaking Picked in the cool of dawn the grapes as cold as possible the grapes were transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. The juice was then cold settled and carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks where it was inoculated with selected yeasts. Temperature controlled fermentation was followed by a short period on oak prior to blending and bottling. (267711-1)

Winemaking

The fruit was harvested in the cool of the night to preserve freshness and quality. Individual batches were cool fermented in stainless steel on French oak followed by lees stirring to give length and roundness to the palate. The wine was blended, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.vintage. Vintage The Vintage 2019 growing season was one of the driest on record. Controlled winter watering and careful monitoring of vine stress levels was key to a successful crop. Temperatures tended to be cooler in Spring and early Summer which caused a slower start to the season, as temperatures began to rise in late Jan early Feb ripening moved along a little quicker and the team were grateful the vines had sufficient canopies to protect the fruit through to maturity. The reds from this vintage show excellent depth of colour and fabulous tannins, whilst the whites display a rich array of aromatics and bright fresh fruit flavours. The Fibonacci sequence reflects the growth spirals found in nature, just like the new tendrils on a grape vine that unravel each spring. The notion being ‘what you start with determines the end result’ which is of course the foundation of all great wines. The right combination of soil and climate with grow quality grapes, the best grapes will then give you a fabulous wine. (266804-3)

Ra Nui Pinot Gris 2017 (12 x 750mL) Marlborough, NZ

Lot No: 0023-2478948

Vineyard

Grapes were 100% estate grown on our own home block the Cob Cottage vineyard. Our Cob Cottage vineyard lies in the south eastern corner of the Wairau Valley, on the road just south of the township of Blenheim. The soil here is a mixture of gravel and sandy loam areas with some clay components. A warm site this vineyard regularly produces small ripe grapes with intensely flavoursome profiles and great length. This vineyard is run along organic principles with minimal use of any man made products (we are a member of Organic Winegrowers of NZ). Vinification All grapes were immediately transported to the winery, upon arrival they went straight into a receival bin and we allowed some skin/juice interaction. After 3 hours we loaded a small press and pressed all juice to tank, which was then cold settled for 48 hours, then racked with gross lees separated. A long cool ferment then followed, with the wine being fermented almost totally dry. The wine was then left on fine lees for several months prior to bottling. A portion of fermentation (20%) was also carried out in french oak barriques, allowed to sit on lees, then added back to the stainless steel portion shortly prior to the wine being cold stabilised and lightly filtered for bottling. Our Gris, as per usual includes a small portion of Gewurztraminer (3%) and Viogner (2%) adding flavour and complexity, all picked at the same time and co-fermented. Season 16/17 A warm start to the season with pleasing sunshine hours and little rain, and well below average wind-run in November (visitors do not realise that Marlborough is quite windy, with a prevailing Nor’wester most days). Warm weather continued over flowering, then January 2017 was warmer than normal with very low rainfall (27ml) and well above average wind-run. As we headed towards harvest March 2017 was overcast and cloudy and this slowed down ripening compared to the warm 2016 vintage. April was initially wet and we started vintage slightly early to avoid Any potential disease pressure. Our Gris is always pruned to two fruiting canes only, resulting in lower crop levels and early ripening, which in a vintage like this 2017, where it was wet over vintage, certainly paid off. Jones Road Pinot Gris 2017 (12 x 750mL) Mornington Peninsula, VIC

Lot No: 0012-2478948

Viticulture

Sourced from our vineyard further south on The Peninsula, these vines were spur pruned and shoot thinned to24 shoots per vine on VSP. A reasonable canopy was maintained through summer as we intended these grapes more ‘hang-time’ for a more fruity, luscious Gris style . The vines were grown 'dry' to increase root activity & search for deeper tannins. Vinification The fruit was top-loaded to the press without crushing or destemming to avoid extraction of harsh phenolics orflavours and then pressed gently to tank. It underwent a 24 hour settling before being racked for fermentation ina combination of tank and older French oak barriques. Natural indigenous yeasts were allowed to commencethe ferment in the barrels, while selected yeasts were used for the tank fermentation. Some of the ferments'stalled', which we decided to allow leaving some residual sugars. (267649-1)

Tertini International Chardonnay 2016 (6 x 750mL) Tumbarumba, NSW

Tertini International Chardonnay 2016 (6 x 750mL) Tumbarumba, NSW

Lot No: 0028-2479019

Heritage

Established in 1978, The Wine Portfolio combines the finest grapes with the best winemaking techniques, as well as passion from our dedicated winemakers. We have taken the boutique winery approach to winemaking by controlling the entire process-from grafting our own cuttings, developing our own vineyards and viticultural techniques and investing in the best technology possible. Vineyards This wine is from Chardonnay grapes grown in our Kinross and Riverview vineyards in Hawkes Bay. Vinification The grapes for this wine were harvested and transported to our Riverview winery. The fruit was pressed into stainless steel tanks. A combination of tank and barrel ferments using a range of yeast strains including PDM, VL1 and Maurivin “Fusion”. Following fermentation the wine was inoculated for malolactic fermentation. The wine was then transferred to our Katikati winery for finishing and bottling. (266247-3)
