Lot No: 0063-2476615

100 Parker Point Wine! Premier Grand Cru Classe

The ambition of making Mouton a place of art and beauty can be seen everywhere. Outside, in the harmonious arrangement of buildings and open space, in the subtle play of perspectives, in the zen-raked pathways, in the peaceful symmetry of the two end-walls that frame the château, in the contrast between the vertical lines of Petit Mouton, a modest, ivy-covered, mansard-roofed Victorian residence built in 1885, and the horizontal lines of Grand Mouton, constantly enhanced and redesigned since the 1960s. Lot No: 0056-2476615

Appellation: Margaux A.C., 1er Cru of the 1855 Classification

Since the 17th Century, the first wine of Château Margaux has been recognised as being one of the greatest wines in the entire world. It owes its unique qualities to the genius of its terroir as well as to the passionate work of a succession of generations. It’s a remarkable wine that comes from a combination of characteristics that are only rarely found: finesse, elegance, complexity, density, intensity, length and freshness. Although its tannic concentration may be exceptional, it’s rare to detect astringency. The great vintages are distinguished by their formidable ability to move us. The lesser vintages give pleasure to wise enthusiasts. They offer the advantage of evolving very rapidly and, reveal, after a few years, instead of power, this subtlety that is the prerogative of great terroirs. Château Margaux has an extraordinary ability to evolve. Over the years, it has developed a finesse, an aromatic complexity and a remarkable presence on the palate. (263439-15)

The soil of Petrus, located on the highest point of the appellation (40 meters) enjoys an excellent situation. The soil, mostly clay, is particularly favorable for the Merlot, which constitutes 96% of the vine of the vineyard. The remaining 4% are planted with Cabernet Franc, most of which is not found in the great wine. The harvest is manual and breeding lasts 20 months (100% new oak).
