From the southwest of Western Australia, the pairing of these two famous grape varieties has, over time, evolved into the region’s signature white wine - nobody does it better!

The success of this wine is driven by the diverse contribution each variety brings to the blend.

Sauvignon is the star of the show. Upfront, fresh, lovely, highly aromatic, very showy. Semillon on the other hand is all about weight and viscosity, length and structure. The more reserved character, behind the scene, holding the show together.

And like any great performance, you can’t have one without the other.

Winery Tasting Notes

Aroma & Palate

A flood of intense fruits lift from the glass as guava, black currant and gooseberry mingle with custard apple, cantaloupe, sweet herbs and citrus zest. The palate offers bright and intense fruit flavours, a lovely lemon butter richness and a long refreshing citrus acidity to finish.

Food Pairing & Cellar

Enjoy now and over the next year with Persian fetta and smashed avocado sweet on char grilled sour dough or for something more sophisticated, tempura whiting served on a bed of wakame with a kewpie dipping sauce.

About Us

The MadFish story begins in the far southern reaches of Western Australia where 15 kilometres from the quiet coastal town of Denmark is the picturesque Madfish Bay. According to local folklore, the bay’s tranquillity is broken when two tides meet. The fish confused by this natural phenomenon, can be observed leaping in the air as if in a state of complete madness.

Our Label

The artwork for the label was originally designed by the late Maxine Fumagalli, a Noongar artist from Western Australia’s Great Southern, who had a deep love for the land and the people of the South-West region.

Her designs reflect the Aboriginal understanding that there is unity between land, sea, stars, animals and people, hence the inclusion of all elements in the label’s design.

The traditional aboriginal water turtle design on the label is a symbol of perserverance and tolerance - no doubt characteristics displayed by the fish in MadFish Bay.
