It's certainly no lightweight. It packs blackberry, salted licorice, bay leaf and coffeed oak flavours into a well powered palate, its dried herb and dark choc notes more or less fully integrated. Maybe it lacks a little spark, but that's being very picky.

Rating 92 - Gary Walsh, Wine Front

Juniper:a key ingredient in my favourite drink. Shiraz vines for this wine were planted all the way back in 1973. I’d rather they put Cabernet Franc in, but that’s just me.

Raspberry, blueberry jam, mocha and pepper, gum leaf and aniseed. Medium bodied, sweet fruit, a churn of grainy tannin, mocha oak in support and some bitter chocolate and dried herbs on a sustained finish. Has density and a fair amount of character for a Margaret Shiraz.

Winery Tasting Notes

Dark and dense in colour, this is packed with dark, ripe fruit characters of plum, cherry, blackberry and raspberry with mixed spices and mocha. The palate is full with fleshy plum and blueberry balanced by savoury, spicy liquorice flavours.
