Picked on optimum flavours and acid/sugar balance. Machine harvested at night.

Extended maceration and fermenting in wide, shallow tanks produced rich colour. New French oak (40%) has integrated with the plums and spice to produce this fabulous soft, gentle shiraz.

Expert Reviews

96 Points - James Halliday Australian Wine Companion, July 2014

"Similar colour density to Invitation (Mike Garland) Shiraz, with a touch more purple; while the price is the same, and invidious comparisons in no way intended, this is the best of the Duke's '12 Shiraz's, rippling with black cherry and plum fruit, complexed by new French oak and balanced, ripe tannins. Drink By: 2037"

Winery Tasting Notes

Plum and berry. Very ripe. Soft tannins. Perfect ripening conditions produced intense plum flavours. Shoot thinning and reduction of the crop allowed even, gentle ripening. Age 8-12 years.
