The rains have finally come. Months of travelling the Long Paddock, searching for feed for his animals can be put behind the farmer as he heads for home. Newly green pastures will provide much needed food for his animals. And a place to rest some weary bones. And there’s no more welcoming sight than seeing the farm gate. It’s good to be home.

Medium depth magenta with carmine red tints

Alluring jubey fruit aromas of red plum and blueberries with underlying notes of star anise and warm spice.

The palate shows generous fruit flavours of dark cherry and plum. The mid palate generosity is enhanced by a dash of Sangiovese, which adds a touch of tradition and a rustic, savoury edge to the finish.

Winery Profile

Redbank Winery was established by Neill & Sally Robb in the Pyrenees region of Central Victoria in 1973.

It is distinctly Australian and is named after the small town of Redbank situated three kilometers to the north. It is located 2 hours north-west of Melbourne in the heart of the Pyrenees range.

Redbank Winery has established a reputation for producing wines of excellent quality, consistency and value. The winery is 18kms north of Avoca on the Sunraysia Highway.

Neill & Sally planted their first vines in 1973; which consisted of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec varieties. Today there are 18 hectares (45 acres) under vine, which produce exceptional quality grapes. The original vineyard of Sally’s Paddock, named after Neill’s wife Sally, is still a non-irrigated single vineyard that continues to deliver a wine of wonderful complexity and depth.

In 1975, using local century old hand made red bricks, Neill built our steep-gabled winery, known as Redbank Winery. This today provides a fabulous ambiance to taste the wines and also enjoy the delicious hand made dishes, at the Flying Pig Deli.

After 37 years of operation, Redbank Winery continues to be wholly owned and operated by Neill & Sally Robb.

Sally’s Paddock is proudly listed as ‘Distinguished’ on the Langton’s Classification of Distinguished Australian Wine. The Sally’s Paddock has been listed in their catalogue since it’s inception. Langton’s Classification is now a cornerstone of the ultra-fine Australian wine market. It is based on the actual buying patterns of their clients (over 6000 active members). Thus it transcends personal agendas, pompous glorifications and endless accolades.
