The Stonier Chardonnay is fermented in a mix of French oak barriques, puncheons (10% new) and in tank (30%), with a total maturation period of nearly 10 months. Several batches from our coolest vineyards were allowed to undergo the acid-softening malo-lactic fermentation (approximately 30%), with the remaining portion withheld to preserve the lovely pure flavours of a very strong Chardonnay vintage.

Winery Tasting Notes

This wine has a lively and driven palate, with a tight framework releasing subtle arrays of bright citrus fruits and firm white peach. Its hints of a creamy texture will build over time, but for the moment the energy and freshness so typical of Chardonnay are at the forefront of the palate. Its long and persistent finish is an attribute Stonier always looks for when crafting Chardonnay.
