Overview

Chateau Reynella is where the prominence of South Australia’s wine industry began. In 1838, John Reynell planted the first vines in this infant colony, making it the oldest operating winery in Southern Australia. The first vintage they produced was in 1842. Through the years, despite the many changes in management, Chateau Reynella has been steadfast in its commitment to produce premium quality wines.

Winery Tasting Notes

Reynella Shiraz is the perfect embodiment of what McLaren Vale Shiraz should be: it is big, bold, and dark with flavours of blackberry and plum laced with dark chocolate. Ripe tannins and silky plum and blueberries play in your mouth in a burst of wonderful flavours. The nose is a fresh bouquet of blackberry with hints of oak. This wine pairs perfectly with aged cheddar, dark chocolate, barbequed meats, and grilled or roast beef.
