In 1865 Thomas Hardy had the foresight to begin blending grapes from different regions, believing that the blending would enhance the different qualities of the grapes. His vision proved to be right and it has since become the inspiration for our Heritage Reserve Bin (HRB) range.

Our award winning Heritage Reserve Bin range pushes the boundaries of winemaking through the cross regional blending of hand selected grapes.

Bin D668. While percentages are not known, comes from five regions - Tumbarumba, Yarra Valley, Margaret River, Adelaide Hills and Pemberton, and it's a balanced, ripper-of-a-blend. Heady with ginger fluff cake, lemon curd, oak spices figs and stone fruit, the palate unfurls with nutty leesy flavours, creamed honey, the very good oak adds another layer. There's a lot going on, yet not heavy, the acidity and some smoking match-strike sulphides keep everything reined-in.

Winery Tasting Notes

Deep straw in colour with green tinges

Displays vibrant aromas of nectarine and peach mixed with characters of toasted cashews and vanillin. A complex and interesting bouquet that is highlighted

with spicy French oak notes

Intensely flavoured palate with notes of white peach over a citrus structure of lemon and lime. Combining with these fruit elements are subtle hints of French oak spice, toast and nut, lengthening into lingering creaminess.
