Overview

Carefully nurtured from vine to glass, these single vineyard wines represent the pinnacle of our

Yarra Valley Estate. Each vineyard parcel is selected for quality and typicity. Fruit is hand harvested

and the wines are handled by gravity where possible. Fine wines with charm and character.

A terrific mild, dry season after good early rain with a good balance of flavour, texture and acidity. Quite fine and composed, good natural acidity.

Grapes are hand picked, whole bunch crushed, pressed and allowed to settle overnight. The turbid juice is then racked to older French oak casks where it undergoes natural fermentation. Lees are stirred in late autumn and a little in winter and then left to rest until the finishing stages.

Expert Reviews

The bouquet is complex and the varietal character is as clear as a spring day. The wine went through mlf and came out enhanced; it fills the mouth with white peach, almond kernel and grapefruit acidity, oak merely a means to an end. Rating: 95 James Halliday Wine Companion 2019 August 2018

Brand Profile Image

De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.

Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines.

Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends.
