Lot No: 0001-2475086

Pauillac A.C.,Premier Cru Classé

“Lafite has a soul, a beautiful, generous, kindly soul. Lafite turns bare earth into heaven. Lafite is harmony, a harmony between man and nature, because without our magnificent winegrowers, nothing would be accomplished.” Baron Eric de RothschildIn 1815, Guillaume Lawton said of Château Lafite, “I consider it to be the the most elegant and delicate, with the finest substance of the three (Premier Crus). The location of its vines is one of the finest in the Médoc”. In 1855 the Château was ranked as a Premier Grand Cru in the famous classification that was prepared for the Universal Exhibition of that year. (263439-7)

100 Parker Point Wine! Premier Grand Cru Classe

The ambition of making Mouton a place of art and beauty can be seen everywhere. Outside, in the harmonious arrangement of buildings and open space, in the subtle play of perspectives, in the zen-raked pathways, in the peaceful symmetry of the two end-walls that frame the château, in the contrast between the vertical lines of Petit Mouton, a modest, ivy-covered, mansard-roofed Victorian residence built in 1885, and the horizontal lines of Grand Mouton, constantly enhanced and redesigned since the 1960s. Chateau Margaux 1er Grand Cru 1982 (1x 750mL),Margaux,Bordeaux,France. Cork

Lot No: 0007-2475086

Since the 17th Century, the first wine of Château Margaux has been recognised as being one of the greatest wines in the entire world. It owes its unique qualities to the genius of its terroir as well as to the passionate work of a succession of generations. It’s a remarkable wine that comes from a combination of characteristics that are only rarely found: finesse, elegance, complexity, density, intensity, length and freshness. Although its tannic concentration may be exceptional, it’s rare to detect astringency. The great vintages are distinguished by their formidable ability to move us. The lesser vintages give pleasure to wise enthusiasts. They offer the advantage of evolving very rapidly and, reveal, after a few years, instead of power, this subtlety that is the prerogative of great terroirs. Château Margaux has an extraordinary ability to evolve. Over the years, it has developed a finesse, an aromatic complexity and a remarkable presence on the palate. (263439-11)

Penfolds `Block 42` Kalmina Cabernet Sauvignon 1996 (1 x 750mL)5 Star Prov

Lot No: 0004-2474945

Provenance: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Planted around 1888, Block 42 is located at the edge of the Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley and is home to Cabernet Sauvignon vines of ancient genetic origins.

The 10-acre Block 42 comprises what are believed to be the oldest plantings of continuously producing Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the world. For over 120 vintages these vines have produced flavour-intense, mineral-rich fruit with exceptional concentration and balance.Providing ‘lift and structure’, Block 42 Cabernet Sauvignon was blended into many early bottlings of Penfolds Grange. The Block 42 vineyard continues to be an important component of Bin 707, providing backbone and substance to the overall style. There have only been a handful of releases across the decades due to the low-yielding nature of the Block 42 site. The most recent was made from the 2004 vintage and was sold en primeur - Penfolds was the first Australian winery to use this selling method made famous by the chateaux of Bordeaux. With a bit of luck, ideal weather conditions, the right parcels of fruit and when the fruit is not required for Bin 707, Block 42 will continue to be periodically released – potentially more than once in a decade. Rockford 'Basket Press' Shiraz 2015 (2x 750ml), 5 Star Prov

Lot No: 0020-2474945

Provenance: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Robert O’Callaghan’s evocative Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is a tribute to the Barossa’s 19th and early 20th-century heritage. Made from grapes sourced from 60 to 140-year-old dry-grown vineyards (most from independent growers) across a range of Barossa soils, altitudes and micro-climates, the wine represents a rare and important post-colonial Australian aesthetic. This soft and medium bodied style, with an earthy quality showing through bottle age, echoes the landscape of the Barossa and references the great mid 20th-century wines of legendary winemaker Colin Preece. Labour-intensive winemaking practices, a culture of craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail culminate in one of Australia’s greatest and most-loved winesFruit is hand picked then vinified using classic Barossa techniques including a 19th-century wooden Bagshaw crusher, open fermentation and basket pressing. Matured primarily in seasoned 300-litre French and American oak hogsheads and 2500-litre vats for two years. Neatly juxtaposed between powerful and elegant, the Rockford Basket Press Shiraz is beautifully tensioned with exquisite dark berry fruits, inky complexity, underlying roasted chestnut notes and long, muscular but precise tannins. The 12 year old blended malt sourced from two of Nikka`s distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, named after the company`s founder, Masataka Taketsuru. It is rumoured to have been discountined.

The grand story of Nikka Japanese Whisky begins with the ``father of Japanese Whisky`` Masataka Taketsuru. Born in 1894 into a Saké producing family, Taketsuru travelled to Scotland early in his career to learn the beguiling ways of distillation and blending. After many years of honing his craft, Taketsuru crafted Japan``s first whisky at the Yamazaki distillery before establishing Nikka Whisky, a truly artisan and premium whisky house. The 12 Year Old from the Miyagikyo Distillery is a soft and luxuriant blended malt whisky that utilises the different natural environment at Miyagikyo with the use of steam heat distillation that results in a malt that is distinguished by a harmony of the aroma of aged casks with sweet hints of vanilla and gently peat. The soft taste is elegantly deepened by a sweet and tangy fruitiness.

Created by the legendary Max Schubert - creator of Penfolds Grange - Bin 389 is often referred to as ‘Poor Man’s Grange’ or ‘Baby Grange’, in part because components of the wine are matured in the same barrels that held the previous vintage of Grange. First made in 1960, this was the wine that helped to build Penfolds’ solid reputation with red wine drinkers. Combining the structure of cabernet with the richness of shiraz, Bin 389 also exemplifies Penfolds’ skill in balancing fruit and oak. A classic Australian style with a clear Penfolds identity. Lindemans Classic Release'Bin 6600' Shiraz 1983 (1 x 750mL),5 Star Prov

Lot No: 0014-2474945

Provenance: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

The old Lindemans Hunter River Burgundies are what we know these days as Hunter Valley Shiraz, though some were known to receive the odd splash of Pinot Noir to add lightness and a hint of extra complexity. Widely recognised as two of Australia's greatest ever wines were the 1965 Bin 3100 and 3110 Lindemans Hunter Burgundies, and this 83 vintage 6600 follows in its illustrious ancestors footsteps.Kept back in Lindemans cellars until re-released in 2000, this wine was made by Hunter legend Karl Stockhausen, and is a rare opportunity to see why so many industry insiders praise Hunter Shiraz so highly. In Stockhausen's words: “Nothing special was done on the winemaking side of the 1983 Bin 6600. It just happened to be a great wine of a good vintage. It cannot be over-emphasised that much of the flavour and texture of a Shiraz depends on the grapes that produced it. In other words, great Shiraz is made from grapes of great vines.” (262125-91)

While the 2003 has already seen some bottle age, the wine will comfortably sit idle for another half decade but will not disappoint the impatient in all of us. (262125-57)

After a 3-day pre-fermentation cold soak, the must was inoculated with selected yeasts. Fermentation followed at 26°-28°C, with aerated pump overs of 1.5 times the tank volume in the beginning and reduced to half the volume at the end of the fermentation process. Upon completion of the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was left on its skins for an additional week to gain greater structure and character. The wine was then racked off its skins, which were pressed for a second fraction of wine. Part of the free run wine and some of the press wine were oak aged. The final blend included half oak-aged wine and half tank wine. The wine was then cold stabilized, filtered, and bottled.Winemaker: José Pablo MartinAlcohol: 13.5% vol.Volume: 1500 ml Residual sugars: n/aStandard Drinks: 16Peak drinking: 2018Best Served: 16°-18°CAgeing: 10 to 12 months with an average of 25% of new oak, 25% second use, 25% third use and 25% fourth use. 85% is French with different toasts, forest and coopers. 15% is American.
