What is Autobid?+
Placing an Autobid is an easy way of continuing to bid if you are too busy or just away from your computer.
How Autobids work
Select the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the item(s) you are bidding on. Once you have confirmed a bid, you are committed to paying up to your maximum bid for each item.
The GraysOnline Autobid system does the work for you by comparing your bid to other bidders and increasing your bid by increments up to your maximum bid amount to win the auction.
If someone bids higher than your maximum amount, you will receive a "You have been outbid" email. You can then decide whether or not to increase your maximum amount. Note: It must be done before the auction ends.
How to Place an Autobid?
To place an Autobid, please ensure you are registered with GraysOnline and have signed in before placing a bid.
1. Select the Autobid function by clicking on the circle next to auto bid
2. Select the maximum bid price you are willing to pay for each item from the drop down menu
3. Click place bid
4. Check the details are correct and confirm bid
IMPORTANT: The bid amount you select for your auto bid is per item, if you are bidding on more than one item, please take the total price including freight and buyers premium into consideration before committing to the auction.
How is shipping calculated?+
The shipping calculator is a tool available on our website to ensure you are able to view all freight charges before bidding on a particular item.
The Shipping Calculator calculates the cost to deliver item(s) to a nominated postcode and it includes handling, packaging and insurance.
Simply click on the Truck symbol and it will automatically calculate freight charges to your registered delivery address. Freight to your postcode will then be broken down into 'shipment rate' and 'per item rate'. Freight is calculated by adding the 'shipment rate' and then the 'item rate'
The shipment rate is the base rate depending on the zone of destination - metro/regional and country
The per the item rate depends on the weight and size of the item
To calculate for 1 item:
- Shipment rate + item rate = total cost
To calculate for multiple units of the same item:
- Shipment rate + (item rate x multiples of the units) = total cost
Please note: Items purchased from different sales are unable to be consolidated. We are unable to consolidate freight on certain items, such as wine, high value jewellery, large palletised items, supermarket lines and certain artworks. Only Buy Now items marked "Buy More & Save" are able to be consolidated.
Where is my delivery?+
Your goods will be delivered to the address registered with Grays. After you have completed your purchase, and your goods are dispatched from one of our warehouses, you will receive a dispatch email.
Your dispatch email will let you know which courier company is delivering your goods, the expected delivery timeframe and how you can track your delivery online.
Our delivery timeframes can range between 2-14 business days; this is because Grays products are sent from warehouses all over the country, even internationally. We also use many courier companies to ensure our deliveries run as smooth as possible.
If you have made multiple purchases, you may receive more than one dispatch email, each with the details of the individual deliveries. Please be advised that each item is packaged and dispatched individually and may arrive on different days.
Please contact us via our Customer Service Form, if your goods have not been received within the time frame outlined on your dispatch email/s.
Please note: We cannot guarantee our delivery times and delays may occur on international deliveries due to circumstances beyond our control.
How do I find out further information about a product/item/vehicle?+
Before contacting Grays please fully read the product description, look at all the photos (in the enlarged view) and check all tabs for additional information, including shipping. When can I return an item?+
Damaged/Faulty/Misdescribed Items - Auction & Buy Now
All goods (Auction & Buy now) that are "damaged in transit" or "dead on arrival" (not working) can be returned. You can also return an item if it has been incorrectly described (other than minor differences).
Change of Mind
Item(s) bought at auction may not be returned if you change your mind. The exceptions to this are Grays own Grays Wine (30 days change of mind).
When & where do I pick up my item? +
If the sale is described as a "Pick-up" sale, you can collect the goods.
The location and nominated pick up times will be provided in the relevant sale overview, lot or item page. It's important that items are picked up as per the advertised pick up time table. Pick up can only be made once the funds have cleared into the nominated GraysOnline account.
Please make sure you bring a copy of your Winner's Email and a photo ID when collecting your item(s). Goods will be released when you have signed off on the condition of the item(s). If applicable, please ensure you have sufficient tools and resources are available to load the goods at the time of collection, as well as the right transportation. In compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, our staff are not able to assist* with loading your vehicle.
Third party pick-up
If you wish to send a third party to collect your goods on your behalf, they will need a copy of your Winner's Email, a photocopy of your photo ID and a letter signed by you authorising them to collect the goods on your behalf. They will also be required to produce identification and sign for the goods on behalf of buyers acting as the authorised agent. Grays do not carry manual consignment notes nor complete them for third party carriers.
Grays staff will not release the goods to anyone other than you unless they carry the appropriate authority. By appointing third party pick up you have given them the authority to sign off on the condition of the goods being picked up.
Please note: that Grays are not responsible for the goods once they have been signed for. Any problems relating to the transportation of the goods will need to be taken up with the third party acting on your behalf.

What if I'm not able to pick up my goods?+
It's very important that items are picked up as per the advertised pickup timetable. If you are not sure if you can pick up an item, please arrange for someone else to pick it up, book a courier (see Prix Transport) or do not bid on said item(s). This is because if you do not pick up your item within the stated timeframe your goods will then be deemed abandoned.
