Village Botanist Mataro 2018 (6 x 750mL) McLaren Vale, SA

The Village Botanist range of wines is a celebration of the pull to make artisan wine. Crafted by Vanessa Altmann. The progressive winemaker has made wine for seventeen years throughout regions of South Australia including the Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale.

With a focus on sustainable and organic winemaking, Vanessa began fermenting small batch wines under the label Switch Wine during 2010. The Village Botanist range is an extension of this winemaking philosophy and style.

During vintage you’ll find us with buckets at the ready, thrown towards friends and enjoying long picnic lunches amongst the vines. We seek organically grown parcels of fruit and working closely with growers and friends is all part of how we like to make wine. We live by the ethos that outstanding wines come not only from great vineyards, but from people who love what they do.

These are small batch wines, sometimes made in quantities as limited as 100 cases. Our aim is to offer these wines in a different way direct from the winemaker to the wine drinker.
