Stone Cottage Vineyard Chambourcin 2017 (12 x 750mL) NSW

Stone Cottage Vineyard is a small family owned operation situated at Woodstock near the town of Milton in the Shoalhaven District of NSW.

The Vineyard was planted 9 years ago & covers about 2 acres in total. The vines are Chambourcin, a French grape similar to Pinot Noir in style.

As the planting area is small, the resulting yield is also small, producing a quality wine, rich in colour that is ageing well.

The soil is very rich Monzonite (weathered Granite) & is welled drained & produces a very lush crop which is prolific given the small area planted.

The grapes are produced & harvested on site by hand & wine is made by local Winemaker Wally Cupitt.

The Chambourcin wine that results is a light easy to drink Pinot Noir style red with a peppery nose & a light tannin finish, displaying various fruit flavours at the back of the pallet.

Stone Cottage Vineyard takes its name from the rustic Granite Stone & Hardwood cottage that sits within the property.

Winery Tasting Notes

Stone Cottage 2017 Chambourcin was produced in year that was wetter than normal and the resultant wine is lighter in style than previous years, yet reflecting a good growing season.

Plum and Passionfruit flavours are evident while maintaining the spice finish that is typical of Chambourcin. The Shoalhaven area is becoming synonymous quality Chamourcin and the 2017 vintage builds on that reputation. The wine will age well for a further 3 to 4 years.”
