Expert Reviews

Medium to full red-purple; a show-stopper of a wine, or as Robert Parker might put it, a gob-stopper. The bouquet is potent, with slightly resinous oak; the palate is massive and powerful, needing much time, with an extraordinary array of minty/cherry fruit and oak and fruit tannins all intermingling.

Rating 94 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/1996)

Winery Tasting Notes

The 1993 Michael is a traditional Coonawarra Shiraz that hides its immense power under a cloak of soft rich fruit.

Masses of mulberries, pepper and spice on the nose and lashings of sweet berry fruit and charry American oak flavours. Extremely easy to drink now and well remain so for many years if cellared correctly.
