Parker `First Growth` Cabernet 1993 (1x 750ml), Coonawarra. Cork closure.

With superb fruit resources, being planted on the famed Terra Rossa strip in Coonawarra, and a top notch winemaker in Peter Bissell (winemaker at Balnaves), Parker Coonawarra Estate has a track record of making excellent wines, especially their flagship wines, all under the 'Terra Rossa' descriptor. The 'First Growth' is their nod to Bordeaux, with a Cabernet-dominant wine made using the traditional Bordeaux methodology, including rigourous fruit selection - in years where the fruit is not regarded as up to standard, the wine is simply not made.

Expert Reviews

Rating 97, Drink 2019 - 2029, Jeremy Oliver

Dark, dense red; the bouquet exudes ripe blackberry and chocolate aromas, with no green characters whatsoever. The palate is similarly dense and ripe (not jammy) with the flavours promised by the bouquet; fine tannins and good oak handling round off a classy wine. Rating 93, Drink by 2014, James Halliday
