Kaesler 'Old Vine' Shiraz 2008 (4x 750ml)

The 2004 growing season had its challenges, most notably 3 days in a row, in excess of 46 degrees, two weeks prior to harvest. That aside, the wines are some of the best we have made.

Vivid purple hue; a very ripe and full-throttle example of the region, loaded with black fruits, tar and licorice; the palate is densely packed with tannins and dark fruits, and while at the big end of town, finishes with a light touch; holds its alcohol with ease.

Winery Tasting Notes

This wine displays complex aromatics and big full bodied palates.

Plums and blackberry stand tall through a wide spectrum of black fruits and malty oak.

The palate has firm tannin that is nicely balanced with fruit and acid.
