Katnook Estate Founder'S Block Botrytis Chardonnay 2001(3x375ml)5 Star Prov

Provenance: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

2001 vintage in Coonawarra began with a very warm and dry summer culminating in the hottest January and February for many years. In contrast, March and April temperatures fell to well below average. Occasional rain

towards the end of vintage initiated the mould Botrytis Cinera on the grapes. Although rare in Coonawarra, this combination of cool, heavy early morning mists and sunny days in late May provided ideal conditions for the mould Botrytis Cinera to thrive and concentrate the grape flavours.
