Natures Step Organic Chardonnay 2014 (6 x 750mL) Adelaide Plains, SA

This wine has been made by a natural ‘wild yeast’ ferment, where the juice is encouraged to ferment with the natural yeast present on the grape skins from the Adelaide Plains vineyard. The yeasts indigenous to a particular area are an important part of what gives its wines their character. This technique builds a wine with complexity and finesse and true varietal character.

The 2013/2014 vintage commenced with slightly higher than normal average temperatures. Budburst and flowering began as expected and continued at a normal rate. With dry weather in October and November very little disease was reported and flowering progressed as normal. We irrigated early and in the lead up to Christmas the vines were looking very healthy and balanced. The very warm temperatures in January made for perfect ripening and harvest began at the end of the month. A great vintage with high yields and increased fruit qual, both a representation of strict organic farming practices

The vineyards are certified with the Biological Farmers of Australia.
