Winery Tasting Notes

Vintage

A drier start to spring and quick flowering in November resulted in good fruit set. Lower than average rainfall through January meant smaller bunches leading into veraison. Ripening in Feb-March was excellent with impressive parcels of whites in particular which were able to achieve flavour ripeness at lower sugar levels.

Appearance

Pale green.

Nose

Vibrant and fresh, green pear, kiwi fruit and herbaceous aromatics.

Palate

Zesty kiwi fruit, banana skin and tropical fruits, balanced by zippy, limey acidity.

Vinification

Harvested in the early morning and crushed ever so gently to the press. Juice was drained and settled prior to controlled fermentation. Lees stirring following fermentation assists with texture and mouthfeel.

Cellaring

Drink now while the fresh fruit flavours dominate!

Winemaker’s Comments

The 2017 wine has great structure and acidity so while great on its own it can also accompany many different lighter food styles

Serve

Chilled at 8-12°C.

Food

Grilled snapper with home made greek salad
