St Kilda Shiraz 2017 (12 x 750mL) Riverina, NSW

Vintage

A record wet start to winter and spring gave soil moisture a good head start to the warming season. The increased cloud cover kept us below average in the solar radiation stakes, which made for a long ripening period, perfect for retaining natural acidity. The summer was dry and warm to keep the fruit fruity and the diseases at bay.

Winemaking

Harvested when the fruit is showing vibrant berry flavours, then fermented on skins for 5-6 days at 20-24ºC with a combination of American and French oak.

Winery Tasting Notes

An abundance of ripe red summer berries and hints of spice and white pepper. The palate shows generosity of fruit and delicate supporting tannins.
