Winery Tasting Notes

Appearance

Deep ruby

Palate

Complex, high tannin, long savoury finish

Full-bodied with rich black currant and green pepper aromas. French and American oak barriques integrate well to give hints of smoky, chocolatey flavours, and long, luscious finish.

Coonawarra can be credited with producing some of the best red wines in Australia. The regions Terra Rossa soil is as iconic as the wine it produces. Coonawarra’s proximity to the Southern Ocean gives it a mild maritime climate, the Mediterranean effects in summer are moderated by cool breezes coming off the sea. This cooling is critical to the richness and complexity of the wine as it extends the ripening period, resulting in a wide range of flavour development.
