yellow tail Shiraz 2015 (12 x 750mL), SE AUS.

While some Shiraz can be over the top, this wine offers some seriously easy drinking, even when the wine is young. Red fruits dominate the nose and mouth, but subtle spice and a hint of dusty tannins join in for good measure. A perfect winter warmer and yet surprisingly drinkable all year around.

Pie In The Sky Shiraz 2013 (12 x 750mL), SE AUS.

An incredibly mild summer with above average rainfall ensured slow, even ripening of the fruit. To preserve delicate fruit flavours, the fruit was harvested in the cool of the night and delivered in small batches to the winery. The grapes were crushed, yeasted and pumped over in traditional style to avoid the extraction of bitter tannins. Thereafter, the wine underwent cool fermentation to maintain a fruit driven style with select parcels receiving French and American oak maturation to add complexity and structure.

Willow Bridge `Black Dog` Shiraz 2010 (6 x 750mL), Geographe, WA.
Average rating 5 out of 5 stars
1 REVIEW

This Black Dog is a classically styled Shiraz whose name hails from our second ever vintage in 2001 when cellarhands noted that the wine from our most spectacular hilltop block of estate shiraz was “as black as dog's guts”. The nickname caught on amongst family and friends, so today, provided vintage conditions deliver us a shiraz of suitable depth and concentration to do the name justice, a new Black Dog is born. This release was fermented in small open topped stainless-fermenters, hand-plunged and then pressed off skins once sugar dry and only when the desired balance of fruit, body and tannin had been achieved - 14 days this year. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation for 18 months in Burgundy coopered French oak barriques, one third of which were new. Only 260 dozen were made.
