Robert Oatley Beach Hut Cabernet Merlot 2014 (12 x 750mL), S.E.A

his marvellous red wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties from Southeast Australia. Wine aficionados have considered this medium bodied blend to be one of the best classic red combinations in the world of wines. It is identified by a deep black colour, with rich and vibrant aromas of dark plums, violets, blueberries, blackcurrants, red cherries and a tad of spice. The palate is medium to full bodied with similar notes of blackcurrant and vanilla, in addition to a soft tannin finish. This wine may be enjoyed early, but additional cellaring of about 7 to 9 years will enhance its flavours and characters. Cabernet Merlot pairs well with steaks, aromatic cheeses, salt cod, rack of lamb, spiced venison and roasted beef fillet.
