Expert Reviews

Hand-picked, open-fermented, 10% whole bunches, basket-pressed into French and American barriques (25% new) to finish fermentation, 14-16 months maturation in those barriques. A medium to full-bodied cabernet in the best traditions of Margaret River, loaded with blackcurrant fruit, ripe tannins and integrated, yet positive, oak. And the price is right. James Halliday, Rating 95, 27th July 2015

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Lush, rich and deep purple in colour with bright hues.

Aroma

The aroma leaps from the glass with violets and black berry and mocha notes.

Palate

Not unlike a Rorschach Image, people will see different flavours across the palate; some will find ripe fleshy black currants and cassis, others will find crunchy sour cherries; but both complement the overall palate with intensity, weight, structure and texture.

Cellaring

Raconteur can easily be enjoyed on immediate opening or be cellared for up to 10 years.
