Expert Reviews

Deep reddish black colour with a trace of purple, the bouquet eucalyptus-leafy and fresh, while the palate is full-bodied and rich and ample, with slightly gritty tannins. The eucalyptus nuances also permeate the palate, which concludes with a bracing touch of bitterness. Big wine. Rating 90 - Huon Hooke, Drink 2016 to 2029 (27/4/2016)

Winery Tasting Notes

A modern style of Shiraz showing bright red fruits and hints of spice on the nose.

The palate is rich and juicy filled with blackberry and cassis notes, with subtle oak spice providing complexity and structure. The bright, raspberry like acidity provides length and drive to a lingering finish.

Food Matching

Match with a juicy steak and roasted root vegetables.

Grays Tasting Panel Review

Very reminiscent of a roast lamb for me, rosemary and pepper dominate the nose, with blackberries and a faint meatiness lingering. Mulberries and blackberries across the palate, more pepper as well but the rosemary isn’t as strong. Fine grained tannins and good length. Smooth and drinking well now, but could go longer.

Have it with a family Sunday lunch roast lamb (of course).
