Mitchell Winery was established in 1975 by Jane and Andrew Mitchell.
The entire range of Mitchell Wines receives multiple accolades every year. Highlights have been the Penguin Wine of the Year in 2003, a consistent 5 star rating in James Halliday's Wine Companion.
- SA - Clare Valley
- South Australia
Good colour; a very well balanced medium-bodied wine, content that the vintage, the variety and the place will all speak for themselves, with only mild assistance in the winery. The champion wines from '12 are now emerging, some towering over wines such as this, which is desperately unfair, but life wasn't meant to be easy, was it? Rating 94 - Drink by 2030, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2015).
Winery Tasting Notes
A deep bright inky crimson red.
The nose shows fragrant, ripe berry flavours lifted by dusty exotic spicy notes.
There is generous complex fruit flavour on the front palate, leading seamlessly through to a very dry firm tannin finish.
A wine of elegance and finesse with great concentration of flavour, will only improve over the next decade in your cellar.
