The grapes for the 2013 Y Series Sangiovese Rose come from four distinct vineyard sites. Firstly the two Barossa Valley blocks - Tony Brooks’ vineyard from Gomersal on rich, red brown earth over limestone gives the wine depth and length while the Kevin Burgemeister’s Penrice site on brown, sandy loam gives perfume and freshness. Next our Wrattonbully vineyards from terra rossa country which are red sandy loam over limestone, gives the wine a powerful depth of flavour coupled with a mineral texture. Finally fruit from a vineyard in the cool Adelaide Hills near Kersbook offers high toned perfume and herbal characters.

Bright cherry red colour
The bouquet opens with the freshness of a spring day, cut flowers, watermelon, honey dew and red apple skin.
The palate is bright and savoury showing flavours of cranberries, pomegranate and red apple flesh with a zesty citrus finish.
Try this wine with beef Carpaccio with a wasabi oil and parmesan. Another option is smoked salmon on a blini with horseradish crème fraiche.
