This wine is the essence of what Viognier is all about. Apricot fruit aromas and flavours with long luscious texture and hints of orange oil to finish.
It's all there ready to seduce and delight the imbiber at a moment's notice.

"Yalumba's EV Viognier looks more like Virgilius all the time, which Louisa Rose puts down to increasing vine age, sourced largely from vineyards planted in the eighties and early nineties. Full wild fermentation, two-thirds in old French oak barrels, has got to help, too. A classy new label sets off the 2013 impeccably. A vintage of presence and depth, with delightful layers of textural mouth feel, accented with well managed and subtle bitter phenolic texture. Zesty grapefruit, contrasts rich white peach, apricot and mealy notes. Drink: 2014-2015."93 points - Tyson Stelzer, Wine Taste Weekly, Edition 150, 22 May 2014
Winery Tasting Notes
After harvest about 60% of the fruit was gently pressed directly to barrels, the rest to a stainless steel tank. The juice was handled with passive oxidation, allowing the wine to ferment with indigenous yeasts, natural to the vineyard. The wine was left on lees, which with regular batonnage for 10 months increased the complexity and creaminess and further heightened the palate weight.
Yalumba has pioneered the growing and making of Viognier in Australia since 1980. We have had over 30 years of viticultural and winemaking experience working with this alluring variety.
