Wynns Cabernet Shiraz Merlot is a rich and complex wine with enhanced softness derived from the blending of these three classic red grape varieties. Its soft fruit plus judicious oak handling is well balanced and has created a wine perfect for current drinking or short-term cellaring, reflecting its regionality.
The first Wynns red blend (a Cabernet Sauvignon - Shiraz or "Hermitage as Shiraz was referred to then) was produced in 1969 making this "Red Stripe" red blend the 42nd vintage.

Blackcurrant, choc-licorice, lavender and some mint and vanilla. Medium bodied, ample but restrained fruit – a pleasing sense of dryness – ripe fine grained tannin and a long even finish. Subtle mineral character. Complexity of blend and quality of vintage at play. Rating 91 - Gary Walsh, Wine Front (MAY/2014)
Winery Tasting Notes
Bright, vibrant with purple hues.
An elegant combination of black and red fruits with hints of choc mint, that are the hallmark of the Wynns
Coonawarra Estate Cabernet, Shiraz, Merlot blend. Black olive and black currents dominate the nose, but are
subtlety supported by raspberry, rhubarb and well integrated oak.
The palate is filled with vibrant black olive and choc mint Cabernet notes, and subtle Shiraz and Merlot notes
of red liquorice and blood plums. Well integrated oak tannins add elegant structure and complexity. Resulting
in a bright, well balanced wine, which is very versatileand suits many different foods.
