2014 was a classic vintage in Margaret River. The 2014 growing season was cool to moderate in spring, enabling excellent retention of acidity in the fruit, while summer was mild and warm, ripening the fruit to perfection. We find wines from 2014 to be similar to those from 2012.
This is the second vintage of Chardonnay produced with our vibrating hopper. Once filled with fruit, the hopper lifts itself up in the air before vibrating the fruit out into the destemmer. This system enables the fruit to remain in perfect condition until destemmed.

Very pale straw-green; a medley - and melody - of white peach, melon and grapefruit interwoven with barrel ferment characters and discreet French oak, all in the mainstream of elegant Margaret River chardonnay, acidity carrying the fruit well into the aftertaste. Rating 95 - Drink by 2024 - James Halliday - Published on 27 Jul 2015
A component is fermented wild, all the fruit is gin-gin clone and the wine sees around 30% spending time in barrel. Sourced from three vineyards around Wilyabrup. It’s set in the ‘village’ range of wines from Woodlands, designated by their gold screw caps in the range.
Scents of struck match, clovey-oak, cedar and stewed apples, but cuts a high, fresh feel amongst the savoury and richness. It’s satsifying for its freshness and racy acidity, but also shows a slick flow of riper, flavoursome fruitiness. Nice balance – good length. Will satisfy just about all chardonnay lovers. Rating 91 - Drink by 2015 - 2020, Mike Bennie (APR/2015).
