Dry white blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon have their traditional home in Bordeaux on the south-western coast of France. Over the past few decades, the south-western regions of Western Australia have arguably claimed these blends as their own, primarily in a clean, fruit driven, refreshing style. This Dragonfly SBS has mostly been cool-fermented in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve and highlight the intensity of fresh tropical and citrus fruits and fragrant herbs that are the regional signatures of these varieties. A small portion (around 5%) of the blend was fermented in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels to add further aromatic complexity and to build some creamy texture into the palate.

Sauvignon Blanc Sémillon blend from the little-known West Australian region of Geographe / Ferguson Valley. If you handed me a map I’d take a while to locate it myself. The wine knows what it’s about though. This is a striking wine. Pungent, full of juicy fruit flavour, bursting with passionfruit and generous all the way through the finish. Bang on for value and quality. Rating 92 - Drink 2014 -2020 Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front (SEP/2014)
Winery Tasting Notes
Pale straw with hints of green.
Packed with tropical fruits, citrus zest and florals with a hint of struck match in the background.
Light and tangy with passionfruit and grapefruit flavours, a super dry quartzy texture and a spicy zesty finish of excellent length.
It is best enjoyed as a young wine - within three years of vintage -when its vibrant aromatics and clean, fresh fruits are at their most expressive
