This is a premium cool climate Pinot Gris with exotic aromatic qualities and lingering delicate flavours. It’s wonderful compliment to an outdoors summer lifestyle. Serve chilled and savour the luscious flavours with your favourite alfresco cuisine.
The Langgibby vineyard was planted in 1998 to the DIV and GN04 clones that lend themselves to the sandy loam soils, and produce riper pear characters. Charlie’s Patch vineyard is one of the highest in the Adelaide Hills at 460m, and is planted to the D1V7 clone, providing a long cool ripening period that lends its self to more minerally characters and a zesty acid structure. We hand pick the grapes to ensure they are delivered to the winery in the best possible condition with minimal juicing and shin contact prior to vinification to reduce colour and phenolic pick up

Winery Tasting Notes
The appearance is brilliant mid straw with a touch of yellow gold.
The bouquet is fragrant and lifted by the intoxicating perfume of Jasmine and Primrose blossoms with Nashi pears, apples and ginger spice adding to the aromatic mix. The benefit of 3 years maturation adds to the complexity and depth of bouquet.
Fresh Nashi pears follow onto the palate with green apples and citrus zest giving a lively, refreshing palate weight with a mineral steeliness and long clean finish. The middle palate is round and full with sensuous tropical fruit, lychee and guava flavours adding character and complexity.
Pinot Gris on the patio works with everything you enjoy in the warmer months. Keep it on ice and serve with smoked salmon, frittata, summer salads, dips, crudités or any of your favourites. It’s natural acidity and crispness lifts the flavour of cold dishes and refreshes the palate with spicy or hot meals. It has enough depth of character to handle delicate oysters through to beer battered fish and chips.
This Pinot Gris has an excellent pedigree and will be delicious drinking for another 18 – 24 months but it’s totally enjoyable right now!
