Expert Reviews

"OK wine snobs. Time to get over yourselves. The reality is a lot of people really enjoy Marlborough sauvignon blanc. A lot of them like to enjoy a bottle or two on a sunny day, or pair some savvy with fresh seafood. Much as youd prefer them to be drinking arneis, or albarino, the reality is they relish the style of wines the Kiwis make. So if you are looking for a classic and consistently reliable Marlborough sauvignon blanc, nicely put together, with plenty of zing and zest and a good balance between tropical and leaner herbaceous characters youll almost certainly enjoy this vibrant young wine from one of the regions style leaders."

"Lemon, lime and apricot flavors have a touch of green tea, a refreshing acidity and lemongrass notes on the finish."Rating 86 - Wine Spectator (JUN/2012)

"The bouquet is beautifully fragrant and appealing with white peach, feijoa, lime zest and gentle herbaceous characters. Its intensely flavoured on the palate with excellent weight and vibrancy leading to a long, succulent finish. The balance is outstanding. Highly enjoyable. "Rating 93 - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (FEB/2012)

"I like to steam mussels in Sauvignon Blanc, so a glass for me and several for the pot. Pineapple, gooseberry, some tomato leaf and spice. It’s racy and tangy with its passionfruit and unripe pineapple flavour, has a bit of flintiness and tight acidity married to gentle fruit sweetness – herbal flavours again providing counter-balance. There’s no doubting what it is, or where it’s from and it’s a good example of the style. "Rating 91 - Gary Walsh, www.winefront.com.au (OCT/2011)

Winery Tasting Notes

Intense gooseberry, tomato leaf, fresh cut fennel and red capsicum characters underpinned by the classically pungent melon, guava and passionfruit aromatics, immediately fill the senses.

The palate is extraordinarily balanced with bright seamless acidity, concentration of brambly grapefruit, mineral lemongrass flavours and a long supple lingerish finish.

Food Matching

A wine with remarkable fruit intensity and style which complements fresh seafood, cured meat and rockmelon, along with Thai inspired salads. Or simply, a fantastic afternoon on the patio with great company and repartee.
