The Red Right Hand is the result of the union of three of the great world varieties each with their individual attributes from three of the great wine growing regions of Australia to produce a wine of great complexity and interest.
We are all familiar with the hero variety - Shiraz, from McLaren Vale, the premier Shiraz growing region of Australia, full of colour, flavour and structure. Blended with classic old vine McLaren Vale Grenache contributing its heady perfume and sweet fruit mid palate. Bringing the wine together is a small dollop of intense, savoury Tempranillo from Margaret River in Western Australia.
Each component of the wine was fermented separately in open topped vats with traditional fermentation techniques. The resultant wine parcels were matured in a combination of American and French oak barriques for 12 months before blending.
Colour
The wine displays awesome colour; deep crimson red, bright and vibrant in hue.
Aroma
The bouquet is a complex mix of ripe berry fruits and savoury aromas.
Palate
The palate displays rich and fruit sweet fullness with a complex and savoury textural finish of mature tannin.
The Red Right Hand has the structure to reward medium term cellaring but is especially attractive now with its fruit ripe sweetness.
Vinaceous is the brainchild of Nick Stacy (Marketing Manager for West Cape Howe, Pitchfork and Hay Shed Hill Wines), Gavin Berry (CEO/winemaker of West Cape Howe Wines) and Michael Kerrigan (CEO/winemaker of Hayshed Hill Wines). Together, they have sourced some of the best Shiraz, Grenache, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit from McLaren Vale and Padthaway/Limestone Coast to produce wines of extraordinary flavour, intensity, and above all quality.
