Shiraz offers fruit sweetness and power to the palate, as well as attractive floral, aniseed and cherry/raspberry aromas and provides body to the blend. Cabernet Sauvignon’s firm and defined tannins provide structure, length and complexity. The blend is further enhanced by the use of a small amount of Viognier which contributes an intriguing floral, spicy character that both compliments and accentuates the other two varieties.

Winery Tasting Notes
The 2008 release is a deep red/maroon with a purple hue.
The nose is pretty and vibrant and full of character. Beautiful fresh blackberry and raspberry fruits leap from the glass and spicy pepper and cool peppermint nuances waft through the back ground. There are also deeper layers of spice and sweet vanillan oak and lighter, higher notes of violets and pink orchids.
The palate is full, round and juicy. The tannins are soft and silky upfront and the mid palate is packed full of blackberry and raspberry fruits, pepper and cedar/vanillan oak. A bright and enticing acid structure runs the length of the palate and leads the wine through a long savoury and cedar oak finish.
The 2008 Classic Dry Red is a lovely, approachable style of wine and is ready to be enjoyed in its youth
