A single vineyard wine from the Pokolbin Hills Estate vineyard. This vineyard has long been the source of top semillon for the Tyrrell’s winemakers and now has its own label. After a relatively cool fermentation, the wine spent minimal time on yeast lees and was quickly bottled to maintain freshness. No oak fermentation or maturation.

Expert Reviews

"One of the first semillons of the vintage to hit the ground, it's true to the season in its predictably taut and razor-sharp style of firm acid, cut grass, lemon and lime. A zesty lunchtime aperitif, or give it a few years to flesh out." Drink by 2015

Rating 91 and Highly Recommended (2014 Edition) - James Halliday, Date Tasted: 8 March 2013 - Published on 11 Jul 2013, www.winecompanion.com.au

"Bright, fine, juicy nectarine fruit nose here, this has some lovely citrus too, really even and nicely ripened. The palate's juicy and even, and really lovely acidity works away below gentle, elegant fruit flavour. Lemony acid finish; balanced and ready."

Rating 93 - Nick Stock - Good Wine Guide 2013

"I’m a big fan of young semillon with its fresh nettle/grass grapefruit green fruit aromas and flavours. In this case the attack is electric with tastes of lime, green fig, grapefruit, mint and quince. The acidity is upper bright and carries the finish begging for food. This will fatten up and turn the corner in two or three years in bottle to become a whole other wine but for the moment it is vibrant and deliciously electric. Super value."
