Sincere and Elegant

"This wine is a sincere and profound tribute to the complexity of Pinot Noir."

Pinot Noir is a pure paradox; desired and pampered - yet respected by grape growers and winemakers. This fine and demanding grape is certainly the most difficult in the world to cultivate, vinify and mature. It requires attention and precision at all times and implies a merged, intuitive relationship with the winemaker who must also invest his fervour.

Winery Tasting Notes

Lively, intense and purple.

The generous bouquet is like a basket of fresh fruit where aromas of red fruit (strawberries and cherries) emerge in harmony with those of black fruit (blackberries and bilberries).

The first impression is a full frontal attack which surrounds and covers the palate with silky, structural tannins. Naturally elegant and without pretension, it presents a concentration of freshness, suppleness and energy.

Food Matching

Oeuf en meurette (Eggs in wine sauce), boiled beef with vegetables, pike-perch fillet, roast veal, beef roast, vegetables as crudités, parsleyed ham. Serve at 14 - 16°C.

Blason de Bourgogne

The Union of Blasons de Bourgogne was formed when four of the largest cooperatives in Burgundy joined forces, to pool resources and expertise and bring together Burgundian wine-growers from the various appellations of Burgundy. In 2002, they launched the hugely successful Blason de Bourgogne wine brand, which has since gone from strength to strength. In 2006 a fifth co-operative, Cave des Hautes-Côtes, joined the Union.

The aim of the Blason de Bourgogne brand was to make Burgundy understandable to consumers; the name Burgundy is synonymous with quality wine for many consumers, but few have a proper understanding of the different villages, vineyards, producers, negotiants and cooperatives.

The styles of the wines are in keeping with tradition - the aim is not to make New World style wines, but to offer consistent quality across all the wines in the range. Quality is paramount, as the Blason group knew that keeping their customers was as important as attracting them in the first place.

The co-operatives

  • Vignerons des Terres Secrètes
  • Caves des Vignerons de Buxy
  • La Chablisienne
  • Caves de Bailly
  • La Cave des Hautes-Côtes.
