Plump and generous on the nose, this wine is wonderfully aromatic with notes of old leather, plum and earth. Easy to like and easy to drink.

Medium-deep purple/red in colour, the nose is impressively ripe and pristine showing blueberry, dark plum and floral characters. It's succulent and smooth on the palate with excellent fruit intensity and polished tannins. There's a touch of savoury game notes at the end, making it a satisfying red to partner rich, flavoursome dishes. At its best: 2011 to 2015.Rating 91 - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit (JAN/2011)
Swoon-inducing cocoa, dried thyme, pepper and ripe plum aromas lead to a burst of plush, spicy berryfruit, espresso and smoky oak notes in the mouth and leaves deliciously meaty finish. Easy to see how this wine won the trophy for champion cabernet sauvignon or merlot/cabernet blend at last year?s Air NZ Wine Awards. Widely available.5 Star - Yvonne Lorkin( 12/FEB2011)
Like a pair of silk knickers, this wine feels amazing: it's smooth, supple and slips down. Reminiscent of violets and black fruits. At $26 it's bloody good value - unlike those silk knickers.Rebecca Gibb, NZ Herald (24/JAN/2011)
Winery Tasting Notes
Merlot 79%, Malbec 11%, Cabernet Franc 10%
A wonderfully brooding wine with depth of darkness.
A floral streak gives the wine some prettiness in what would otherwise be a fairly dark exercise.
This promise of density gives way to a plumy richness on the palate. As a relatively big boned wine, balance comes through sinewy tannins rahter than acidity. As expected with generous wines the finish is long ans satisfying.
