Classification: Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Umbria
Stony soil, looser and lighter than the other vineyards, an easterly exposure, and aging in large barrels make this Sagrantino the bastion of elegance in Cantina Tabarrini. Cool, relaxed, distinctly mineral, it combines the individual identity of the grape with a joyous but very aromatic complexity. Released no less than 4 years after harvest.

Winery Tasting Notes
100% Sagrantino, a lively, sometimes tannic red grape variety grown in umbria in central Italy, particularly in the Montefalco area. Sagrantino di Montefalco was elevated to docg status in the mid 1990s. Sagrantino has been used as an ingredient in dried grape wines but today shows promise as a carefully vinified dry red.
The colour is intense but not excessive.
The scents are more full than impressive and can give a mineral kick, with nuances of small berries and hints of spices.
Dynamic and nimble, energetic but with great balance and flavour. A good crisp finish.
Roasts, braised meats, fine game and mature cheeses.
