Expert Reviews

A very well-priced everyday chardonnay from a top Yarra producer. Medium-yellow hue and an exuberantly big, ripe, peachy aroma. Sweet fruit and balanced oak. The palate is refined, light and alive, finishing cleanly. Drink now to five years.

Rating 91 - Huon Hooke, The Sydney Morning Herald (MAY/2012)

A big sister to this wine, TarraWarra’s flagship Reserve Chardonnay is rated as one of the outstanding Yarra Valley chardonnays and much of the Reserve’s pedigree rubs off on this. A citrus and orange peel taste, leads to a well-balanced, even creamy finish, leaving you wanting more. The easy drinking wine of the anticipated 2010 range will be popular when released this season.

Rating 8.5 points - Cam Best, The Geelong Advertiser, (22/MAR/2012)

Like it’s upmarket sibling, the Tarrawarra Estate still see’s the benefit of the 2010 vintage, this is still handpicked on the estate grown vineyards and provides a cheaper but no less complex and flavoursome Chardonnay for the price. Peach and melon, trademark spicy cashew and a hint of toffee and vanilla and a vein of citrus. The palate shows a core of lemon and peach that’s lifted along by roast cashew and spiced oak. There’s a lovely show of persistence and firm acids keep it all balanced.
