The Swan Bay range continues the Scotchmans Hill winemaking philosophy of restraint, elegance, balance and purity.

These wines take their name from the Swan Bay nature reserve to the south-east of the vineyard, a beautiful landmark at the eastern end of the Bellarine Peninsula that is a listed wetland.

Swan Bay was named by explorer Matthew Flinders in 1803 for the number of black swans that populate the bay in summer and autumn.

Winery Tasting Notes

Deep purple in appearance. The bouquet displays a complex nose of ripe dark fruits, red berries and plums with a touch of liquorice and chocolate.

A full flavoured and complex wine which is dominated by plum, cherry and red fruits. This is rounded out by white pepper, liquorice and spice, with a cedary oak finish. The wine gains overall balance from tight but fine grain tannins and acid. The palate is intense, long, and lingering. This is a wine to be enjoyed over the next 2 to 4 years.
