The Swan Bay range continues the Scotchmans Hill winemaking philosophy of restraint, elegance, balance and purity.

These wines take their name from the Swan Bay nature reserve to the south-east of the vineyard, a beautiful landmark at the eastern end of the Bellarine Peninsula that is a listed wetland.

Swan Bay was named by explorer Matthew Flinders in 1803 for the number of black swans that populate the bay in summer and autumn.

Expert Reviews

Sexy oak on well-ripened fruit. Needs time to settle but the signs are looking good. Dark cherry-plum, mint, musk and five-spice. Fractional awkwardness to the tannin but the volume of fruit and oak is there to compensate. Rating 91 - James Halliday, Australia Wine Companion - Feb 2014

Winery Tasting Notes

Elegant perfumed nose of plum and strawberry fruit with violet notes; spice and a touch of earthiness in the background.

Juicy yet savoury palate of fresh strawberry, plum and raspberry fruits; spice and earthy notes supported by a charry oak finish. The palate is medium bodied with excellent mid-palate weight, silky tannins, and balanced by firm acidity.
