Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Lemon gold.

Aroma

Yellow peach with exotic aromas of jasmine and spice from premium French oak. As the wine breathes, sweet almond comes through.

Palate

Intense, ripe yellow peach flavours continue on the palate and this is complemented by toasty nuttiness from the oak. Full and round in the mouth, the luscious complexity comes in part from barrel ferment using wild yeast. The wine has a long, intense and wellstructured line to finish and balanced acid keeps all the elements fresh and clean. Bottle age will reveal even more textural qualities.

Food Matching

Shellfish - crab and lobster; roast chicken with tarragon; veal saltimbocca cellaring: Enjoy now or it will evolve over the next 6-8 years.

Winery Profile

Pure, balanced and handcrafted

Our boutique, multi award-winning cool climate vineyard is located in Tasmania’s south eastern wine region. This location is privileged to enjoy an ideal location and environment for making exceptional wines. Sugarloaf Ridge’s cool maritime influenced climate provides for a long growing, slow maturing season which develops low yielding, balanced fruit with intense berry flavours.

All our grapes are lovingly tendered and hand-picked allowing for minimal spoilage to realise their full potential. Our wines are individually crafted by one of Australia's most recognised winemakers – Julian Alcorso and his team – who have over 30 years experience making award-winning Tasmanian wines.
