With historic connections to ancient Persia and indigenous roots in the Rhône, Shiraz has an impressive past full of legend and myth.

Nonetheless its greatest attraction is its ubiquitous appeal. The temperate maritime Margaret River climate produces a style which is elegant, bright in fruit and moderate in alcohol

Winery Tasting Notes

Brooding deep red with purple flashes .

The bouquet is beguiling – crushed cherries, ripe blueberries, and allspice with a suggestion of spicy oak in the background.

The wine is medium to full bodied, and the palate plush and velvety. The tannins are ripe and finely grained. Juicy red fruit flavours of Satsuma plum and plump cherries are enhanced by nuances of chocolate, cinnamon & clove, and malty oak. The overall impression in one of seamlessness and completeness but most importantly persistence of flavour.

Winery Profile

Brand Profile Image

The beginnings of Stella Bella Wines date back to the release of 200 cases of the single vineyard Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon in 1999 by winemakers Janice McDonald and Stuart Pym.

In 2000 the first Stella Bella wine, a Moscato style Pink Muscat was released followed by a Sangiovese Cabernet in 2003. An interest in Italian wine influencing both the choice of name and wine styles.

And the latest addition, Skuttlebutt an everyday drinking style, was released in 2003.

From this modest and eclectic beginning, Stella Bella Wines has experienced rapid growth, broad critical acclaim and a reputation for producing individually crafted Margaret River wines of great expression, personality and quality.

The grafting and crafting of this reputation has been and remains a very hands-on journey for Stella Bella Wines. Both owners and staff alike have worked intuitively and with a high level of self belief and trust in one another.

Our future success is inextricably linked to the Margaret River region and the crafting of the best wines possible from this precious and scarce vineyard resource.
