Spy Valley Wines is so named for its proximity to an international satellite communications monitoring station in the Waihopai Valley...a spy base.
Not befitting the world of espionage, Spy Valley's wine has demanded global attention, the wine has been called "impossible to ignore" and the company among "the planet's 20 most notable new producers."
A very great example of how Marlborough performs in producing fine Gewurztraminers.

Off/dry Gewurztraminer with impressive intensity and weight. The wine is classically varietal with strong turkish delight/rose petal and potpourri flavours. It has a seamless, creamy texture and lengthy finish. A very good example from a region that makes many of the country’s finest examples of Gewurztraminer. Bob Campbell, Rating 95/100.
Winery Tasting Notes
Peaches, mango, vanilla-pod, hints of spice and even a little cocoa.
A powerful, fine-grained structure is disguised behind a rich, mouth filling entry. Intensely fruity, without being simple; cellaring for several years will bring out the best in this wine.
