Scotchmans Hill is located on an extinct volcano named Mount Bellarine. Thick, black and fertile volcanic soils of black clay with basalt subsoil lend individual and intense characters to the wines.

Clones MV6, 114 and 115, destemmed, 5-day cold soak, matured in new and used French barriques for 12 months. Very good colour and hue; an impressive pinot with layers of satsuma plum fruit matched with and by well-handled oak and fine-grained tannins; has a good future. Winery Tasting Notes
Rich and complex nose displaying ripe plum and cherry fruits, savoury notes, spice, beetroot with cedar oak.
Juicy full bodied palate with cherry and plum fruits, savoury mid palate with beetroot and earthy flavours rounded out by cedar oak on the back palate. The wine has full ripe tannins and firm acid giving the wine great structure.
Enjoy and cellar over the next 5 to 7 years.
