Winery Tasting Notes
A wine that announces its heritage with beautiful berry aromas, this 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our own vineyard in the north west corner of the Coonawarra – the Australian home of great Cabernet. It offers an enticing amalgam of dark and red fruits and a palate of pristine blackcurrant and plum fruit flavours, layered with tones of spicy leather and firm fine grained tannins. A wine to be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 8 years.
Sir George Kingston was a surveyor and founder of many South Australian landmarks, including the town of Kingston in the South East for which it is named. A tradition followed through by his son, the former Premier, who became the namesake of Kingston on Murray where Kingston Estate Wines has its home. This pioneering family maintains synergies with our innovative wines and generations of winemaking.
Kingston Estate consistently aims to capture South Australia’s best regional qualities. With ten premium South Australian winemaking regions to source from, every vintage we craft wines which partner the perfect region and variety.
This 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon hails from our Coonawarra Vineyard and offers an ideal regional example with attractive mint and blackberry characters hallmarks of a finely structured cool climate Cabernet.
