Overview

From vines grown on a steep north facing slope in our Raupo vineyard, where the soils are dense and clay-based. The vines are cropped to produce enough fruit for just one bottle per vine, and this fruit is handpicked and completely destemmed before being fermented with wild yeast.

Expert Reviews

91 Points - Lisa Perrotti-Brown eRobertParker.com Oct 2012

Pale to medium ruby colored, the 2009 Raupo Creek Pinot Noir is still fairly primary with lovely notes of black cherries, red plums and aged meat over nuances of Ceylon tea, rose petals and toast. Medium to full-bodied and with plenty of mouth-filling berry layers, it has crisp acid and a medium level of grainy tannins, finishing long. Drinking well now, it should continue to cellar gracefully to 2016+.
